Safety Advisor Position 3 Months+

We currently have a role available for an initial period of 3mths for an experienced Safety Advisor to work with and assist our SHE&Q Manager at our head office site in Welshpool.  This role may have the potential to extend out further or become a permanent role and will be reviewed after 3 months.

We currently have a role available for an initial period of 3mths for an experienced Safety Advisor to work with and assist our SHE&Q Manager at our head office site in Welshpool.  This role may have the potential to extend out further or become a permanent role and will be reviewed after 3 months.
The Safety Advisor will provide hands-on support, guidance and coaching to Managers to ensure that safety standards are met and exceeded. Key responsibilities include:
  • Provide Advice and assistance to Managers on all OH&S initiatives to ensure operational compliance
  • identifying, reporting and actively assisting to rectify operational risks
  • Assisting with the management of our compliance documentation and audit schedule
  • undertaking toolbox and Safety Committee communication meetings
  • Undertaking local inductions for the Welshpool site
  • Manage and coordinate injury management in conjunction with Managers
  • promoting a positive safety culture
  • Manage, document and report OHS statistical data
  • produce safety documentation such as JSA’s, procedures and audit reports as directed (this may required short  site visits).
This position is a support role working with the SHE&Q Manager but will be very much “hands-on” with high visibility expected, providing support to Supervisors and Managers.

Key qualifications and experience required:

  • Experience in a similar role within a drilling and/or construction/mining environment
  • Certificated Internal Systems Auditor
  • Quality experience (desirable)
  • OHS qualification (minimum- diploma)
  • Certificate IV Trainer Assessor (desirable)
  • Experienced and competent in Microsoft office programs
  • Extensive knowledge in statutory, regulatory, and legislative regulations relating to employee OHS and welfare,   quality, and other matters.
